INTERNATIONAL NOTES
TERROR IN YUGO-SLAVIA. , AUCKLAND CROATIANS PROTEST. (Contributed by ‘‘L?ft Wing.”) The following resolution has been forwarded to the Prime Minister of Jugoslavia:— “The police in Jugoslavia, according to a report in the English paper, the ‘Daily Herald,’ and published in local newspapers on 12/6/37, subject the political prisoners to the most terrible tortures by flogging, mutilation, placing of gnat eggs under the armpits and by driving needles under the finger nails. “That this meeting most energetically protests against the atrocities committed by the police, headed by the infamous priest. Father Korosec, and by order of your Government against - political prisoners. That this meeting demands the repeal of the law for Ihe ‘Safety oi the Realm,’ and demands the freedom of the press, assembly and free election. “That this meeting demands the recognition of the Soviet Union and support of the Soviet Union peace policy, and further demands ths cancellation of all treaties with Fascist States, which are driving mankind to war. . “That this meeting demands the liberal ion of all poltieal prisoners, bread and liberty for working people.”
