CLERK’S THEFTS
FROM EMPLOYMENT DIVISION. [Per Press Association]. CHRISTCHURCH, September 16. Allen Leonard Oakes, a clerk, aged 31 years, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, to the theft of sums totalling £123 10s, from the New Zealand Government. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Oakes is a married man, with live children, ami has been employed for live years in the Employment Division ‘of the Labour Department. He admitted having tampered with reliefpayment sheets, and having drawn monev by means of false documents.
