"THE GO-GETTER” WITH GEORGE BRENT. George Brent and Anita Louise have been under contract to Warner Bros, for several years. They never met before they began their assignment in the Warner Bros. Cosmopolitan production, “The Go-Getter,” which concludes at the Regent . Theatre this afternoon at 2.15, and to-night at 8 o’clock. Their first scene only a few moments after Director Busby Berkeley introduced them, an intimate love session, had to be shot five times before Berkeley was satisfied. Each time Brent and Miss Louise had to embrace and kiss twice. On the same programme is an excellent short subject, “Regained Horizon.” One of the biggest hne-ups of child talent in one picture, appears in “Easy to Take,” Paramount comedyromance, which opens on Thursday at the Regent Theatre. One of the most accomplished pairs is Mary Ruth Kizzair, four, and Saundra Maazel, four and a-half, who appear in a duet, Mary Ruth plays piano and Sandra violin. Billy Lee, pint-sized tap dancer, Marilyn Knowldon, Carl Switzer and other talented juveniles also appear. "GUNS OF PECOS.” The golden singing voice of Dick Foran, which helped finance his education at Princeton will be heard in two catchy songs in the Western star’s latest First National picture, “Guns of the Pecos,” at the Regent Theatre on Thursday. Foran, a concert artist before he signed a Hollywood acting contract, will accompany himself on the guitar and sing “The Prairie is My Home,” a cowboy ballad written in a semi-operatic vein, and “When a Cowboy Takes a Wife,” a novelty number. The songs are by M. K. Jerome, whose greatest hit was “Just a Baby’s Prayer at, Twilight,” and Jack Scholl, who has written all the numbers in the Foran Westerns. "Guns of the Pecos” is a thrilling romance. The cast includes Anne Nagel, Gordon Hart, Joseph Crehan, Eddie Acuff, Robert Middlemass, Gaby Fay and Gordon Elliott.

"I’d GIVE MY LIFE.” Sir Guy Standing, distinguished British actor, Tom Brown, Frances Drake, and Janet Beecher head the cast of Paramount’s "I’d Give My Life,” film thriller at the Regent Theatre on Saturday. “I’d Give My Live” is based on “The Noose,” by H. H. Van Loan and Willard Mack, one oi the biggest stage successes. George O’Neil wrote the screen adaptation, and Edwin L. Martin directed. "COLLEGE HOLIDAY." Vivacious Olympe Bradna and Louis DaPron, the easy-going tap ’dancer, have been teamed together as a new screen dance pair in Paramount’s “College Holiday,” the gay all-stai’ comedy which begins on Saturday at the Regent Theatre. SPRINGBOK BALL. A brilliant event to mark the visit of the South African footballers will be to-night’s ball at Schaef’s Hall., From the moment of entering the ballroom till the time comes when they must reluctantly leave, the patrons will suffer no dull or idle moments, for the Committee have worked assiduously to make the function the social event of 1937. The Celtic 'Rugby Football Club, under the ausi pices of the West Coast Rugby Football Union, are holding the Ball in honour of the South African footballers, and Mesdames W. Meldrum. J. O’Brien and J. W. Hannan are the hostesses attending to the welfare of the visitors. The picturesque setting of the ballroom, amid the colours of both the Springbok and West Coast teams, has been especially designed by Mr. A. S. Holcroft, and with Ron. Stopforth’s Marina Band in attendance, and Mr. G. R. Harker supervising the supper arrangements, patrons are well assured of a wonderful night’s entertainment.
