NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. [Per Press Association] HAMILTON, August 24. The North Island Gun Club, Championship opened at Morrinsville today with over 30 shooters from all parts of the Island, including E. Groome (Hawke’s Bay) the New .-Zealand Clay Champion; J. B. Thomasen (Taihape), the New Zealand pigeon champion; and D. P. North (Whangarei), the New Zealand sparrow champion. Results were: North Island sparrow championship, 17 birds M. Pratt (Otorohanga) and R. Symons (Taihape) shot the possible, Pratt winning the shoot off. Pigeon title, 17 birds—D. H. Worth and W. S. Rae (Tauranga) shot the possible, Worth winning the shoot off.
