WRESTLING
BLOMFIELD v. WOODS TO-NIGHT. Whenever either “Lofty” Blomheld, New Zealand’s wrestling idol and champion, or Joe Kopaeh Woods takes the ring, the public knows that it will see hard and exciting wrestling, with the proceedings kept moving at a fast clip. The Greymouth Association, therefore, is particularly fortunate in being able to place these two men in the ring in opposition to each other to-night. The rivalry between Woods and Blomfield, which arose very largely from the efficiency of both in the use of the forearm jolt, became exceptionally keen last season with the result that some thrilling contests were seen. Since then Joe Woods has been in Australia, and how he managed to make himself such a big drawing card over the;-e was made apparent when he had his first match on his return. He showed that he had developed an equally effective jolts with ' either arm, and had also become more versatile in his wrestling. Woods, who is always perfectly fit, is a tough customer at any time, but, in his present shape, he is going to cause his opponents a whole heap of trouble while he remains in the Dominion. Blomlield is well known to wrestling patrons on the West Coast, where his vigorous performances are ' appreciated even more keenly, if possible, than in other parts of the Dominion. No amount of punishment seems to be able to upset the New Zealander and he frequently comes back with a match-winning effort just when,, it seems that things are going badly for him. Excellent preliminaries have been arranged and a packed house is certain to-night.
