WATERSIDE BUREAU

TO OPEN TO-DAY Wellington Workers Resume [Per Press Association], WELLINGTON, August 19. Work was resumed on the waterfront this morning, following a stopwork meeting of the Watersiders’ Union, when a previous resolution to refrain from offering labour was rescinded. It is understood that the Union agreed to give the control of labour that the ship-owners requested. To-day the work is being resumed under the old conditions, and shipowners have agreed to put the bureau system of work into operation, tomorrow morning.
