Marist Bros. Schools INTER-HOUSE tourney. A crowded house at the Town Hall was treated to fine entertainment on Saturday evening when the finals; of the Marist Brothers School IntelHouse Boxing Tournament were decided. St. Joseph’s proved to be winners of the Beban Cup, securing 36 points to bring their total to 80 points. Other House points were St Paul’s 24 (total 71); St. Patrick s 2. (total 62); St. Columba s 18 (total 45). The contestants were very evenly matched, and the bouts of the smallei bovs evoked great enthusiasm. in the heavier classes the bout in which N. Simons defeated A. .Phillips, provided probably the best fight, P* ll .' lips being unlucky to lose the deciA silver cup donated by Mr. B. Lester for the best boxer in the Dreadnought and Super-Dreadnought Classes, was awarded to J. Blumsky. a 4st. 41b. midget, who provided some fine bouts. The programme of nearly 40 bouts was completed in a little over two hours, each bout being -followed in quick succession by .the next fight, and indicating the splendid organisation of the Tournament. The referees were Messrs N. Kiely and F. O Neill. The boys were carefully trained for the competitions by Messrs J. Griffen, J. Stokes, N. Kiely and G. Scott. Results were as follows: — Pigeon Weight!—D. McCarthy (J.) beat S. Nash (PL); F. Sumner (J.) won on a technical knock-out from J Ward (C.). Semi-finals: L. O’Brien (J.) beat J. Stokes (PL); D.
