BANDITS SHOT

BY FRENCH POLICE. WHEN ROBBING DISTILLERY. (Received August 13, 8.50 p.m.) PARIS, August 13. One was killed and two were seriously injured at Aix-en-Provence in a street revolver battle between the police and a number of bandits. The bandits broke into a distillery, stealing spirits valued at two hundred sterling. They were surprised by police, but the bandits fired a volley and then fled. In a running battle one bandit was shot dead, and two others were brought down. A fourth was captured, while the fifth of the gang escaped.
