The Argentine press is bitterly protesting against the Secretary of State, Senator Hull’s statement that any Pan-American nation can obtain similar vessels, since they are strictly for training purposes only. The press of the other Latin American countries have taken the matter up. A furious controversy is raging. Senator van den Berg alleged that this step violates the London Naval Treaty. The State Parliament contends that the other signatories to the London Treaty do not. object. s
