BRITAIN AND ITALY. [British Official Wireless!. RUGBY, August 10. The British Ambassador at Rome (Sir E. Drummond), who has returned to England on a month’s leave, visited the Foreign Office yesterday, and will have further consultations on various points likely to arise, during the talks he will have on his return to Rome next month, with Count Ciano, in a mutual effort to improve Anglo-Italian relations. THE MEDITERRANEAN. MESSINA, August 10. Large crowds cheered Signor Mussolini on his arrival from Sicily, escorted by a cruiser and six destroyers. The Ducc declared that his visit has “exquisitely peaceful constructive aims.” . He added: “Messina is the spearhead of the greatest artery dominating the Mediterranean route, and will again assume the position to which it is entitled."
