WRESTLING

BLOMFIELD AND KIRILENKO. [Per Press Association]. WELLINGTON, August 9. A single, and rather unusual type of fall, gave “Lofty” Blomfield the decision over Matros Kirilenko in a professional wrestling contest tonight at the Town Hall. In the sixth round Kirilenko dumped Blomfield hard, and lifted him to repeat the dump. As he looked likely to put him over the ropes, the referee, Mr. Alf Jenkins, hauled Kirilenko backwards, whereupon he overbalanced and fell underneath Blomfield. The latter promptly pinned him. Kirilenko gave a fine demonstration of speed and cunning. Blomfield interspersed his usual solid tactics with a leavening of elhow jolts.
