WHO KIDNAPPED!

Chicago Case HORSTS NOT THE PARENTS. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.l NEW YORK, August 4. The child aged 21 years taken from Mrs. Horst (wife of a wealthy song publisher and hotel owner), in Chicago, by a man and woman, is not the child of the Horsts. NEW YORK, August 4. The police, after a night’s investigation. claimed the baby was not that of Mrs. Horst, the woman’s sister confirming the police in this, while the hospital, where the baby was allegedly born, has no records of Mrs.' Horst. Mrs. Horst is now held in “technical custody,” although she was permitted to return to her home, which is guarded by the police. The couple who took the child are John and Lydia Regan, who surrendered the baby to the police. They said the baby was born to Mrs. Regan out of wedlock, and the doctor gave him to Mrs. Horst without their consent. They searched two years for him, and seized the baby, when Mrs. Horst refused to give the baby up. CHICAGO, August 4. The Horsts and the Regans met dramatically in the State Attorney’s office and said they bore no malice. The Horsts admitted that Donald was not their child. The authorities decided not to prosecute the Regans, and announced that the Court would decide the custody of Donald, who, meantime, is in an orphanage.
