A GOOD FLIGHT. VANCOUVER, July 31. Establishing a trans-Canada air mail route, pilot J. T. Tudhope, with the Minister of Transport, Mr. Howe spanned the Montreal-Vancouver hop, a distance of three thousand miles, in seventeen hours. U.SA.-MOSCOW-POLAR FLIGHT. WASHINGTON, July 30. The Department of Commerce has granted the airman Mattern, conditional permission for his proposed Moscow flight via the Pole, early in 1938. The weather, at present is rapidly becoming unfavourable. NORWEGIAN DISASTER. OSLO, August 1. Arild Wideroll, a well-known pilot, Chris Braathen, companion of Byrd In the Antarctic expedition, and three others were killed when an aeroplane crashed into the harbour after an explosion.
