SIX COUNTY MERGER

SOUTH TARANAKI PROPOSAL. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 22. Hon. W. Parry addressed the district County Councils on the amalgamation of local bodies. He suggested a- merger of five of the South Taranaki Counties, with possibly a sixth, to form one controlling body. Nothing definite was reached, and the scheme will be further discussed at a conference of the local bodies concerned.
