Auckland Sale VALUES STRONGER. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 5. Auckland’s third wool sale opened with a catalogue of 22,000 bales, and a full attendance of buyers. The market was chiefly dominated by Bradford and the Continent, with Japan getting occasional lots. Values were about a halfpenny" per pound above the Wanganui sale earlier in tho week. An almost total clearance was effected. Among the high prices obtained for tho first catalogue was 20-ld for scour, ed fleece, 19jd for Corriedale lambs, 19 : }d for halfbred hoggets, and 18}d for halTbred fleece. Average fleece wool realised 15d. There was a much larger offering of lambs’ wool than usual. LONDON PRICES RISE. LONDON, March 4. At the' wool sales, 7669 bales were offered, including 5496 New Zealand, and 7211 were sold. There was a good selection, and strong competition. The offering sold well at prices from par to 5 per cent, dearer. New 'Zealand greasy half-bred, Augi, top price 21d, average 174 d.
