(Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH,. March 5. Unusual features were associated with a case heard in the Magistrate’s Court, when Simon Edilson, an orchardist, of Twyford, Hawke's Bay. was charged with working at his trade in a public place, on a Sunday, by driving a truck carrying pumpkins. It was stated that defendant transported his pumpkins, which he claimed were perishable goods, to Wellington, leaving part of the load at Palmerston North. The police contended that the pumpkins were not perishable. 'Counsel for defendant said that the latter last over 1000 sacks,of pumpkins last year, through not getting to maiket in time. He contended that J
