They beat the engineer, forcing him to telegraph his resignation to the pres dent of the railway. They chased the crew into th? woods, leaving the passengers stranded. When, an official of the train protested, the women overpowered him| ripped off h's clothing, and slapped him soundly. This is the second time within a week that women have participated in the strike- on the Lou'sana and Arkansas milhvay line. In the last incident, .twenty-five women halted a freight train and imprisoned the crew in the caboose. They tried to force them to resign.
