“PAGE MISS GLORY.’’ The Cosmopolitan comedy, “Page Miss Glory," with Marion Davies in the stellar role and a. supporting east composed of more than a. score of Hollywood .stars and feat tired players, will be presented by Warner Bros, at the Opera House to-day and to-mor-row. Based on a sensational Broadway stnge, hit by Joseph Schrank and Philip Dunning with the screen version written by Delmer Daves and Robert Lord. “Page Miss Glory” was assigned to Warner Bros.’ ace director, Mervyn Leßoy, who selected such stars as Dick Powell, Pat O’Brien, Mary Astor, Prank McHugh, Lyle Talbot. Patsy Kelly, Barton Mae Lane, Allen Jenkins and Hobart Cavanaugh tor the leading roles. Miss Davies and Dick Powell sing a duet specially written by Hollywood's leading song producers, Warren and Dubin. “Page Miss Glory” is said to be the finest of Miss Davies’ stellar vehicles, and the charming star herself is declared to have risen to even greater heights in her portrayal of the naive country hotel chambermaid who became “Dawn Glorv,” America’s outstanding beauty. The plot is hilariously funny, lur a charming romance runs through it. JEAN’S FLIGHT. At the matinee this afternoon, at the Opera House, is a special newsette, of the arrival in Auckland of New Zealand’s own aviatrix, Jean Batten, after her epic flight from England. The film was shot in Auckland on Friday night, developed and immediately sent to Greymouth. In the film, Jean tells some of her experiences on the flight across the Tasman. The Ncwsette will be screened to-day and to-morrow. “THREE LIVE GHOSTS’’ One of the most famous stage plays of contemporary theatrical history becomes one of the season’s most amusing photoplays in “Three Live Ghosts,’' featuring Richard Arlen and opening on Friday at the Opera House. Originally a novel and play by Frederick S. Isham, “Three Live Ghosts’’ was an instantaneous hit. It has continued a reigning favourite with stock companies, and amateur theatrical performers, and was produced for Mctro-Goldwyn-Mayer by John W. Considine junr., and directed by 11. Bruce Humberstone. It combines comedy, drama and romance into an absorbing hour’s entertainment. Besides Arlen the cast includes Beryl Mercer, Claude Allister. Charles McNaughton. Cecilia Parker. Nydia Westman, Dudley Diggs, Jonathan Hale, Lillian Cooper and Robert Greig.
