(Ou r Own Correspondent). Stockton mine was idle for the week ended' October 16, and would remain so until Monday October 19. If the men work the remainder of this week they will have only four days for the fortnight. The prospect, is not bright for the men who are naturally wondernig if the, mine receives a reasonable share of orders. Mr. J. Lavery presided a't. the annual meeting of the Stockton co-operative Picture Socictv when the balance sheet was adopted. Messrs J. Fitzsimmons, J. Bennett, W Hines and A. McEwen were re-elected to the Management Coml mittee. There was only a small attendance at the monthly whist drive on Tuesday the prize winners being Afesdames Geddes and Steel (equal ladies) and Mr. Taylor (Millerton, men). The Labour Day Sports Committee is now making final preparation for its gathering which promises to be very successful.
