ROSS NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) The Ross Returned Soldiers’ baL held on Friday last and the children > ball on Saturday, proved to be highly successful functions, which drew largs attendances. The. hall was tastefully decorated in coloured streamers, and music was dispensed by the Ross Orchestra. A dainty supper was provided by the, ladies. Much of the success of'the functions was due to the hard work of Mr Cusack, whose conduct of the whole arrangements were admirable. Visitors were present from as far distant as Greymouth and Harihari. Miss J. Thompson and Mr Morris wone the Monte Carlo, whilst Miss Heveldt and Mr O’Neill proved to be the. winners of the Lucky Spot. At the children’s ball Miss Melva Robertson danced the. Highland Fling an item which was much appreciated. 1 rizewinners wore: Girls-June -Vuir ‘ Bo Peep” 1: Melva Robertson, “Highland Lassie” 2. Boys—Raymond Muir, “Santa Claus” 1; Maurice Hargraves “Charlie Chaplin” 2.
