A London cablegram announced the death of Canon Carnegie, of St. ’Margaret’s, Westminster. He was born in .1860. He married the widow of the Rt. Hoti. Joseph Chamberlain.

Anthony, Inspector, Employment Division, Labour Department, who has been acting as District Employment Officer af Greymouth for some months, leaves to-morrow for Westport, to reorganise the activities of the Employment Division in the Buller district.’ Mr T. McDonnell. Takaka, who has been appointed District Employment Officer at Greymouth, arrived last evening to replace Mr Anthony.

The death is announced at Wellington of Mr George Kennedy, at the tig" of 75. Born in Ireland, lie came to Wellington in 1875. where he joined the staff of the Stamp Department, later transferring to the Government Insurance Department, where he. rose to the position of Deputy-Commission-er. He r etired in 1926, since when he hail been interested’ in church work, and for many years was attached to St Mark’s Church, in the capacities of vestryman and church warden. At one time, deceased was one of Wellington’s most prom’nent musician?. being a skilled violinist, and he took part in many prominent performances. He is survived by his widow and three, sons. —Press Assn.

The death occurred at his residence, Ahaura, last evening, of Ernest Hunt (Becker, a native of England, at the age of 72 years. The late Air Becker who had been in failing health for a number of years, was for 20 yeais engaged in farming .pursuits at Te Kinga, retiring about five years ago, when he went to reside at Ahaura. In addition to his wife, deceased leaves a family of six sons, John and Kenneth (Ahaura), Ernest and Gordon (Nelson Creek), and James and Harry (Greymouth). and four daughters.
