(Ou r Own Correspondent), At the residence of Air. and Airs. Al. S. O’Alalley an evening in the form' of a surprise party was tendered to Air. Frank /Archer on the occasion of his birthday. A large number of guests were entertained including a number from -Reefton. Mr. Chas. /Stuart on behalf of the gathering made Air. Archer the recipient of a suitable gift and spoke of his many qualities as a citizen wishing him many more years in their midst G-ames and dancing continued until the small hours of the morning when the singing of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” brought a very happy evening to a close.
