GREY BRANCH MEETING. Mr A. 11. AlcKane (president) was in tin| eha'ir at the haff-yearly meeting of the Greymouth branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association on Saturday evening. Over forty members were present. The main business of the meeting was cons'deration of the proposed hospital scheme for members, and after, a lengthy TscuMon. it was decided that a circular letter be sent to all intending contributors to the scheme requesting them t.o give a definite indication of fTiei'r becoming contributors to the scheme before December 1. It is intended to approach the Hospital Board when fifty members accept the scheme. PRESENTATONS TO OFFICERS. After tho .business of the meeting had been completed, opportunity was taken to offer congratulations to tho president (Mr AlcKane) and secretary (Mr T. P. Ryan), on the success wh : ch had attended their efforts on behalf of pension applicants throughout tho year. Mn 0. McLean, in presenting to both gentlemen monogramed travelling rugs, expresses on behalf of the branch and the sub-branches at Runanga, Blackball, Hokitika, Kumars Ros s and Lake Brunner the thanks of members for the vahiab'e work of the recipients. Many other speakers joined in paying tributes, to Messrs MeKane ami Rvan. who suitably replied.
