FAVOURS INVESTIGATION. TO TEST BOTH SIDES. (Received October 15, at 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 14. Tho “Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent states; It has been learned late to-night that the Portuguese Government has repl.ed to the Committee of Non-Intervention, indicating Portugal’s willingness to agree to the Soviet, suggestion that a Committee of Investigation should proceed to Portugal, provided that similar Commissions are also sent to Barcelona, to Valencia, and to Alicante, which are to be ports through which foreign aid could be most readily sent to the people of Madrid. Russia’s Intention TO LEAVE NON-INTERVENTION COMMITTEE. (Received October 15, at 9.15 p.m.) LONDON, October 14. Tho “Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent says: Tho. Soviet’s fresh demand for control of the ports of Portugal is regarded' as indicating its intention is to withdraw from the Non-Intervention Committee.
