(Our Own Correspondent). .REEFTON, October 10. A very quiet, but pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Stephen’s Church recently, by the Rev. C. Tanner, when William Collard, of Waiuta, was joined in wedlock to Alina, eldest daughter of Air and Mrs Carter, Broadway, Reefton. The bride, who was given away by Mr Reynolds, was attired in a light grey ta'lored costume with pinksmocked blouse and hat and shoes to tone and carried a beautiful lemon and pink tinted bouquet. Miss Jean McDonald of Greymouth, attended the bride as bridesmaid, wearing a brown tailored costume, with hat and shoes to lone, and carried a lemon tinted bouquet. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, John, as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the party were motored to the residence of the bride's mother, where they were entertained at a wedding breakfast. and the usual toasts were proposed and honoured. The happy y-tung couple left later for Chrmtehureh. where a short houevmo .a will be spent. Messrs Ely (2), and Holme, English delegates to the fourteenth congress of the Federation of Chambers of Com merce of the British Empire, arrived in Reef ton and were guests at Dawson's Hotel. They left on Saturday en route to the South Westland Glaciers. The members of the Arbitration Court, who left for Westport’ wenunable to get through the Buller Gorge and returned to Reef ton. The-Inangahua “Herald’’, in Satur day morning's issue, notified that it is the last publication. The first issue of the “Herald'' was on Saturday, Februarv 3rd, 1872, bv the late Air Charles Alirfin. ' At twenty minutes to twelve o’clock last night, the firebell was given a short ring, which, fortunately was not heard by many. The ringing of the bell was evidently the work of someone with little sense, and anyone doing so is liable fo a tine.
