ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSN. At the annual meeting of the West Coast. Old Boys’ Association on Saturday evening. Mr R. Groom pres'ded ovc ( r a fair attendance of members. Tho balance sheet, showing a credit of £lOl 17s 4d, was read and adopted. The president (Mr R. E. Groom), in his annual report,, stated: "In prescfliting the. report for the 18th annual meeting of this assoeiat on. I have to inform you that our funds show a decrease n,f £lO 5s 9d compared with last year. Revenue from members’ subscriptions and rents have improved slightly, but that from the billiards and card room show a decrease of about £9. The eoMt of upkeep of rooms- rema'ins practically the sam’it as last year. Our annual picnic, which was held at Kaniaka. and to which members o-f the Brunner Old Boys’ Association were invited, was not a®' great a success as we expected. it I would be, ay. .owing to the adverse weather conditoons, it had to.be postpion cd twice], but a very enjoyable dav was spent by all those who attended. Several social evenings were held during the year, but did not. get as much support from the members n-s was anticipated. We a’lso entered in thci euchre tournament, which provided quite a number of enjoyable evenings during the winter, months. 1 wish to tharjr Messrs C. Millott and J. Watson for conducting our socials; Mr G. Webster for conduct'ng the euchre tournaments; Messrs T. Blackmore and E. Hiolmes for their work in connection with the club room", during the. year: a?so all member's of rhe committee for thgir co-operation and assistance during my term of office. ’ ’
The report was adopted. The election of officers resulted: — Patron. Mn Gt E- Perkins; president. Mr C. Hodgkinson; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Ellery, W. Bade, G. Webster; Mesisrs F. Blaekmorq. G. Groom, R. Groom, H. Outram. A. Clements', C. Out ram. EHoj’m'es, T. Whale; treasurer, Mr R. Groom; auditor, Mr Jas. Robertson; hon. musician, Mr J. Contessa. A social was held after the meeting, when a number of toasts were honoured. Community singing -was. indulged in;, whlilst items were rendered bv the following: Messes R. Seddon. d Millott, H. Outrain, C. Hodgkinson, and G. Webster.
