REEFTON, September 22
Alessrs Bromley, of the Employment Department, and Hunter, Secretary, Weilington, ami Strong ami Anthony, Greymouth.. were visitors to Reefton yesterday,, and they inspected the Lankey’s Creek cement lead, with a view to considering possibilities there, and later met the local Employment Board. After sonic discussion, it was decided that the local Employment Office be closed.
In the recent golf match here, between the Westport and Reefton teams the local players won creditably to the tune of thirteen games to nine. Details of the match (Westport players being mentioned first) are as follows: —Ladies’ Foursomes —Alesdaines Sleo and Nahr won, 2 up, from Aliss King and Airs Patterson; .Airs Bird and Miss Slee won 3 and 2, -from Alesdaines Prentice and Yellowlees; Mesdames Robertson and Sharpe hist to Airs Duff and Aliss Hay-McKenzie, 2 up. Men’s Foursomes. —Hogg ami Phipps v. Porter and AlcKenz.ie, all square; Loekey and Whitehead lost to IlTisk and Butler, I up; Campbell and Hardng lost to Bagge and E. Prentice. 3 up: Jones and R. Nottle lost to 1-en-nell and 11. Lee, 3 and 2; A. Nottle and Owles lost to Hubbard ami Buist, 2 and 1; Robertson and Smith lost to Yellowlees and Blackmore, 3 and ' 2.
Ladies’ Singles.—Airs Slee beat Miss King, -1 and 3: Airs Nahr v. Mrs Patterson. all square; Airs Bird lost Io Mrs PreiTice, 3 and 2; Aliss Slee defeated Airs Yellowlees, 2 up; Aliss Robertson lost to Airs Wicken 2 up. Alen’s Singles. —Hogg beat Porter, 1 up; Phipps beat AleKenzie, 4 and 2; Loekey lost to 'Brisk, 4 and 3; Whitehead lost to Butler,, 1 up; Compbell lost to Bagge, 2 up; Harding beat. E. Preiitiee, 2 up; Jones lost, to Fennell, 2 up; R. Nottle beat Floyd, 3 and 2; Owles lost to Buist, 2 and 1; Robertson lost to Yellowlees,' 1 up; Smith lost to Hubbard'. 3 and 2.
