SYDNEY, September 21. Disquieting statements that Silver Ring was a doubtful starter in fhe. Metropolitan, for which he was the clear public fancy, were refuted by the trainer, .1. Stewart, who said that, provided Silver Ring was fit on the day of the race, rhere was every intention of starting the gelding, Stewart added that Silver Ring would most likely go to Melbourne for the spring carnival. The “Sydney Morning Herald” commenting on the Hill Stakes, says rhat Silver Ring is one of the most consistent gallopers which has come from New Zealand.
