PALMERSTON N-, September 21

A large meeting of residents was held on Saturday evening, when Councillor J. Ilodgens, M.P.,. stated his case in reply to the City Council resolutions removing him from the Deputy-Mayoralty and membership of two Council committees.

A resolution was. passed requesting the Council not to put the decisions into force, but. to reconsider the same. A petition was also circulated supporting this.
