In v'w of the large number of tourists who will visit Westport, the importance of bringing public buildings up-to-date is fully recognised by alf who have the interests of the town :tl licitrt. The plans for the new Town Hill, which have been on view for some time.-are attracting great attention and interest, and when the budding is erected, it should lend dignity to the town, and should fulfill ab that was anticipated and required, when the matter was first mooted. The Council has wisely decided to securp the site which adjoins the one on wjhieli the olkl Town Hall now stands, and the decision has many things to recommend ill. The Borough Council has given notice of intention to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to bcri/w the sum of £l'o,ooo for the purpose of crect’ng the budding.
