DARING BURGLAR

IN HAWKE’S BAY TOWN

WAIPUKURAU, June, 16.

A daring burglary exploit took place about 2.30 this morning, when a man thought by the night watchman. E. G. Price.- H» be between 30 and 3e vears of trae was found by him on 'he premises of H. B. Poppellwell and Co., Main Street, packing up men s clothing into boxes. The burglar escaped and apparently reached a waiting car. He left an overcoat ehisel and lever behind in his hurried exit. The criminal or tt confederate evidcntlv stole 12 gallons of petrol from F Wells’ garade after smashing the lock. Entry was attempted at two other shops.
