INANGAHUA REEF FIND. Tlie reef found by Alessr.s Ale Lauglilii-n Bros, and McGeady Bros., prospectors under the Unemployment Board’s subsidised scheme, in the vicinitv of Kqefton, promises to be .one of the richest finds yet. reported in Inangaliua. ’When interviewed, Air AlcLaugiili’n said that! extensive inquiries hfci've been made, and the maps of the, underground workings of the. Globe and Progress mine s show that thy present, reef has no connection with these luiney. The stone found is outside and to tho west! of the old workings. The reef at present is 2U fet 'wide, and the wall has not vet been traced, so it appears that Urn exact width will not be ascertained. until this wall has been discovered. The stoiif. is reported to be very rich, assays that, have been taken showing approximately 31 ozs to the ton. The reef has been traced for some distance, land the find will be of immense benefit to Reeftou. The ore treatment, plant which is being installed by the Unemployment Board at the entrance of the Inangahua Valley, at the head of Broadway, is almost completed, and should be ready any day for a trial run. The plant consists of a tube mill and a rock breaker, together with the necessary tables for the treatment of crushed quartz.. A good deal of ore is in sight for treatment, and when the mill is operating it should be a boon to prospectors. BIG RIVER GOLD MINES, LTD; Air A. J. Walker, mine manager, report's as follows: Repairs to shaft above No. 2 Chamber —New sets have been placed in ta position to a point 3.lft above (he cap of No. 2 Chamber. The Lad ground mentioned in the last report has been passed through and working conditions appear to be improving. The shalp has been rel.ned for about, half the distance to No. 1 Intermediate Level (the latter i s 84ft above No. 2 Level). Repairs to dam— Heavy rain last week filled the dam t<> overflowing. The'"Argo Gold Dredging Company last week washed up 66 ounces ot gold from 13 560 yards in 124 hours. KING SOLOMON. INVERCARGILL, May 1. The return at the King Solomon mine for five days’ work this week was 30oz sdwt. GOLDEN GULLY SLUICING COMPANY. A. meeting of shareholders of the Golden Gully Sluicing and Development Company, Ltd., will lie held on May 7 to consider and. if thought fit, pass the following resolution: “That the company, by reason of its Labilities, cannot continue its business, and that it be voluntarily wound up.’’ It 'is understood that at the. meeting a number of shareholders will raise questions regarding the liquidation procedure.
