TASMAN SEA CABLE

REPAIR SHIP’S ROUGH TIME. (Received April 29, at 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. The cable ship “Recorder,’' returned to Sydney to-day, unexpectedly, to secure medical 'treatment for two Alalay members of her crew, who were injured aboard. Since the ‘ ‘ Recorder” left Sydney on Alarch 30th, to repair the Tasman Sea cable, she has experienced one gale after another, hampering her task. The vessel was wallowing in the surge yesterday ’two hundred miles from Sydney, trying to repair an emergency cable, which she found at a depth of three miles, when the two Malays were struck by a chain, which tautened suddenly, breaking one man’s nose. The Chief Officer reports that the cable, considering the time that it has been in the water, is in very good condition.
