TIMBER MILL FIRE
A WELLINGTON SPECTACLEWELLINGTON, April 29. With flames leaping to a- height of forty feet’, a spectacular fire broke out in lhe mill of the Scott Timber Coy., Ltd., ou the* 1 corner of Cable and Tory Streets to-night. It gutted th e mill,’ went through the machinery am] destroyed and dlamaged much of the dressed timber. If it had not been for the prompt action of a passing motorist, who drove back and warned the Central Fire Station. fh u fire must have been more serious. As it Was, the brigade was able to control the flames just as they were starting to make progress. The caus e of 'the fire could not be discovered to-night, and it is not yet known how much damage was done .
