Right' Rev. F. A. Bennett,. Bishop of Aotcaroa, has been invited by the. Archbishop of Sydney to attend the celebrations in connection with the Bishop Broughton centenary. Bishop Broughton was the first, Anglican Bishop to visit New Zealand, and conducted the first Confirmation service for Maori people at the Bay of Islands, in 1839. Bishop Bennett, has accepted the invitation, and leaves Wellington for Sydney On May 15. The celebrations will continue until June 7. Several Bishops from other parts of the worlld arc attending, including Bishop Matsui of Tokio, a Bishop from Jerusalem, and Bishops aud leading clerics from England.

Hilliard, who is visiting the West Coast, attended a meeting of parishioners at Wallsend last evening, and al Cobden this evening he will attend a similar function. To-morrow be will speak at the Cobden Anzac service in the morning. He will also attend the Town Ha.ll service. and in the evening he will deliver an address at the Anzac service in the Miners’ Hall, Runanga. On Sunday, he will administer Confirmation at Holy Trinity Church in the morning, visit' Camerons'*in the afternoon, and administer Uonfii motion al Cobden in the evening.
