THE CHALLENGES. (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON. October 17. P,lomfield has challenged Walker for the New Zealand title, on similar terms to McCready’s Empire challenge. NELSON, October 17. Following McCready’s challenge to Walker, the South ’ Island Amateur and Professional Club telegraphed to McCready, yesterday, asking for a 72 hours’ option, and guaranteeing a purse of £BOO for a match with Walker. McCready telegraphed his acceptance from Nelson, to-day, the winner to take all, and the option to commence at noon to-day. CATALINO AT GREYMOUTH Earl McCready’s opponent for tomorrow’s match at Rugbv Park, Greymouth, has again been changed, . a stronger opponent than either Hopkins or King Elliott having been substituted, in Tony Catalino, the Spanish matman. Catalino is an aggressive wrestler, who can be depended upon to give the redoubtable McCready plenty of fireworks. The Civic Band will be in attendance. If wet. the bout will take place in the Town Hall at 8 p.m. The four preliminary bouts will be: J. Moar (Greymouth) v. G. Burn (Greymouth); R. Smith (Blackball) v. W. Hay (Westport); J. Roberts (Greymouth) v. J. Blanchfield (Greymouth), P. Peters (Greymouth) v. G Geddes (Greymouth).
