PROMISES TO PARLIAMENT. (Aus. and NZ. Cable Assn.) (Received September 11, 9.20 p.m.) SYDNEY. September 11. The New South Wales Parliament was opened to-day with colourful ceremony. The Governor’s speech, outlining the Government’s policy, emphasised that the Ministry, without in any way endangering the State’s financial stability, intended to pursue a progressive policy for ensuring a further economic recovery and relief of unemployment. The Ministry antic:pated that the budgetary position would be improved by £1.500,000 in the coming year. Further reductions in rail freights for primary products would be adopted, in addition to a reduction in the wages tax.
