September 6. Captain G. E. Eyston, the British leng-distanec driver broke tire ten mile record established by Norman Smith (know n as “Wizard” Smith, in New Zealand). Racing his queer looking “Speed Off The Wings,” Eyston attained an average of 167.0998 miles an hour, thus bettering Smith’s 164.08 miles a n hour. AUCKLAND. September 8. The New Zealand amateur billiards championship concluded on Saturday, L. Holdsworth (Auckland) defeating C. Peek (Wellington) by 172 points PALMERSTON N.. September 7.
