Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong southerly winds to gales, with high seas. Weather unsettled and boisterous, with widespread, and in many places heavy, rains. cold, with snow likely on the ranges, and also on some of tihe low levels in the South Island. Hail in places. Mainly fair, however, on the West Coast of the South Island.
