S.S. KAITOKE

LEAVES ON LAST VOYAGE. GISBORNE, September 9. The Union Company’s freighter, “Kaitoke” has been sold to go to Japan and there be scrapped. She left Gisborne early this evening for Osaka direct. The vessel carries 3500 tons of scrap iron, which has been collected in many parts of the Dominion, completing the load with 811 tons from Gisborne. The Kaitoke was launched at Middlesbro in 1918 as the “War Pal- t ace.” Then she was re-named the ”Capc Colony.’’ She was acquired by the Union Company in 1920.
