BOWLING

GREY CLUB MEETING. At a meeting of the general committee of the Grey mouth Bowling Club the following committees were appointed for the coming season: Ground: Messrs Peek, Bunt and Meldrum; Draw: Messrs Bunt, Tabb and Meld rum; Competitions: Messrs Strongman, Lawn and Haglund; Refreshment: Messrs Tabb and Haglund; Finance: All the general committee. One new member was elected and one resignation was accepted. Tt was decided to advertise for applications for the position of greenkeeper at a wage of £3 weekly. A sub-committee (the President, Messrs Bunt and Lawn) was appointed to consider arrangements for a Ladies’ Day, to be held on the green early in the season. The Ground Committee was authorised to purchase a supply of rink pegs, as recommended at the recent general meeting. A proposal that sewerage connection with the pavilion be made at an early date, was defeated. It was unanimously agreed that efforts be made to arrange more inter-club matches during the coming season.
