(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, August 13. So far al! efforts to find any trace of Mr. David Hill, who has been missing from Blackwater for a fortnight, have failed. Farrell, Buller Road, left by this morning’s train on a short visit to Christchurch. Mr. P. Scott, who was selected as emergency back for the South Island League team to play the North Island, left by this morning’s train for Christchurch to join the team. He was accompanied by Mr. Jas Mureott, who makes the tour with the team. A very pleasant and well attended social evening was held in Mr. Rollerson’s rooms, Reef ton, last evening, the occasion being a send-off to Paddy Scott, Ina<gahua League representative, who left this morning with other Rugby League Coast reps, to play in the North v. South Island match at Auckland next Saturday. Mr. Coxali (president of the Sub-Centre) made complimentary reference to the guest of the evening and presented him, on behalf of his admirers, with a very valuable addition to his travelling necessities. Mr. J. Crossman (president of the Rugby Union) endorsed Mr. Coxali’s remarks and wished Paddy the best of good luck in the game. Mr. J. McElwee on behalf of Mr. Scott, thanked the gathering for the evening and presentation, and assured them that Paddy would do his utmost to bring honour and credit to the district he was representing. Regret was also expressed for the absence through recent injuries of Paddy’s cobber, Mick Morris, and wishes expressed for his early return to normality and the field of play.
