(Our Own Correspondent.'. REEFTON, August 12. One the prettiest weddings witnessed in Rcefton was celebrated at the Sac red Heart Church this morning when Dorothy, the second daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. J. lieslop, Reef ton. was married to John Joseph O'Donne.l, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. O’Donnell. Greymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father J. Butler, who also celebrated Nuptial Mass. Mrs. Fowler presided at the organ and Miss Eileen Lord, of Greymouth, sang “Ave Maria.” The bride who entered the church on the arm of her father to the strains of the Wedding March, made a (harming picture in her slightly trained gown of magnolia satin fashioned on slim-fitting lines, the back being finished with buttons to the waist. The cowled neckline was finished in front with a spray of orange blossom and the sleeves, cowled at the shoulders, were finished with buttons and tight-fitting to the wrists. Her veil was of embroidered tulle, crowned with a coronet of orange blossom buds, and she carried a bou-

quet of carnations and freesias intermingled with maiden hair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was her sister. Miss Joan lieslop, who looked very attractive in a frock of blue crepe suedette with radium lace forming the inset yoke and upper portion of the long bishop sleeves. The neckline was fastened with a silver leaf, and round her waist she wore a silver lame girdle with hat and shes to tone, and carried a bouquet which harmonised de ight-

fully with -her frock. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. J. M. Irving. After the reception was held the happy couple left for the North Island, the bride travelling in a smart wine ensemble with coat and hat to match. Mr. W. B. Rea, of Christchurch, formerly manager of the Reefton branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, arrived here, on Saturday even i ng. Among those who went to Christchurch to-day were Messrs. E. V» r . Spencer and S. Austin.

Word was received in Reef ton of the death at Ohaupo, Waikato, on August 1, of Mr. Alexander MeGrner, formerly mine manager of the Scotia Mine and later of the Energetic Mine, Reefton. The late Mr. McGtuer had been ill for some five months past, but his death was not expected. Me leaves a widow ano a daughter, Mrs. 11. F. Teddy, of Ohaupo. The police received word on Saturday night that Mr. 1). Hill, a wellknown resident of Blackwater was missing. He was last seen on July 29, and a visit made to his hut showed that he had changed his clothes before

leaving. Three Rugby matches were played at Reefton yesterday. Black’s Point i defeated Waratah in a friendly game I by 12 points (four tries) to 9 (three I penalties). Star juniors defeated Ikamatua at Ikamatua by 9 points to 3. The junior game, Waratah v. Cronadun, was won by the former by four points to nil. For Waratah a beautiful goal was potted by R. Bob!ho.
