FOOD FOR RAILWAY
JAP.-RUSSIAN BARTER. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) TOKIO, August 10. The newspaper “Yomiuri” reports that the Soviet has contracted for four hundred thousand sacks of Japanese flour as part payment in kind, for the Sino-Eastern railway. Further orders are anticipated. This largely accounts for the recent rise in Japanese wheat and flour.
