INDIAN DISABLES HOPKINS. WELLINGTON, August 12. In the fifth round of a wrestling match to-night, George Hopkins was beaten by Jagat Singh. The Indian applied the “deathlock” hold, and iU incapacitated Hopkius for ten minutes. BLOMFIELD AND WADE. AMERICAN LOSES. AUCKLAND. August 12. The New Zealand wrestler, “Lofty” Blomfield, took the decision from Glen Wade, of America, by two falls to one in a spectacular bou<\ to-night. Moving at a fast pace from start to finish, the contestants provided a contest in which there were few dull moments. There wias a sensational opening, when, within one minute the first gong, Blomfield took a fall with a dump and press, after felling Wade with a. powerful forearm jolt to the jaw. The American evened up in the fourth round with a dump. Wad© appeared likely to secure a win. when he lifted Blomfield 111 the air in the fifth round. Anticipating the dump, however, Blomfield took some of the force out of the fall as he hit the malt with Wade on top, and he quickly rolled oyer on the American to pin him with a body press. —
