Catholicism on August 4ih last, has been delivered in Munich by the Bishop of Treves. Speaking at the seven hundreth anniversary celeb rations of rth e Limburg Cathedral. he declared tha t her glorious Cathedral?testified to the devote spirit of medi aeval Germany, which spirit was not sufficiently alive to-day. Catholics, he said, refused to be intimidated. Nazi uniforms and Swastika flags wore conspicuously absenr from the celebrations. The streets were decorat ed with the Limburg clerical banners. Almost? the entire population had prayer books in their hands. It was a remarkable triumph for Catholicism. The Munich streets remained un usually empty. <le>*pi:e an appeal to citizens to join in special anti-Catho-lie and anti-Jewish celebrations. A few demonstrators carried banners caricaturing Priests as shaking hands with Moscow leaders.
