Box Factory Burnt TAUMARUNUI BLAZE. (Per Press Association). TAUMARUNUI, August 12. At five o’clock this morning a fire completely destlroyed the Kings Box Company’s butter box factory near the railway yards in Taumarunui borough. The fire started through a blow-out in the furnace, the flames spreading throughout the building in a few minutes. The nightwatchman was unable to cope with the outbreak. He called on the brigade. The borough’s new water system gave a powerful pressure, but it was nearly an hour before the outbreak was under control. The building, stock and plant were valued at from ten to twelve thousand pounds. The insurance, in the New Zealand Insurance Office, was only two thousand pounds. Two motor lorries were also destroyed. The fire throws forty men and boys out of employment.
