Operation for Goitre (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn. - ) (Received August 11, 6.40 p.m.) CHICAGO. August 10. Surgeons here to-day removed a goitre from the throat of Madame Galli Curci, the famous Diva. While the operation was proceeding, she sang scales, so that it could permit of a study a s to how the operation might affect her voice. The goi.trc had pushed her windpipe an inch and three-quarters to the left. The suggeons believe that the- operation will increase her tone volume considerably.
