(Our Own Correspondent,.) Fourteen of the employees of Wallsend Mine were absent on Tuesday ow- ■ ing to ’flu and colds. Mr. D. Pryor, of Stillwater, had the misfortune to break his leg on Tuesday whilst employed at the Arnold Siding Mill. He was attended to by Dr. A. W. 'Wilkinson, of Wallsend, and was then admitted to the Grey River Hospital. Mr. H. Collins, of Taylorville, who has been an inmate of the Grey River Hospital, has returned to his home. Mrs. J. Roberts, of Dobson, who has been an inmate of the Grey River Hospital, left on Tuesday for Hanmer Springs on a health visit, accompanied by Mrs. Carruthers. The Taylorville Senior Girls’ Baskettall Club held a concert in the Wallsend Hall on Monday evening, the hall being packed to capacity. The concert was produced by Misses Newlands, Gainsford and Bennie, with Miss M. Watson as pianist. The following was the programme rendered. Opening choruses by members of the Club: Solo, “Wagon Wheels” John Dagleish; Ballet, “The Isle of Capri,” Miss M. Fentiman and members of the Club; Song, “I’ll String Along with You”, Miss B. Dando; Duet, “Rendezvous”, Misses Z. Kerr and P. Pender; So'o, “Love’s Old Sweet Song.” Miss M. Rodgers; Ballet and chorus, ‘‘LittTe Locket of Long Ago,” Miss J. Bennie; Solo, Miss P. Pender; Spanish Dance, Miss E. Wallace; Sketch “The Obstructive Hat”; Selection, “The Midnight Revellers”; “Russian Dance”, Miss Mabel Hogg (encore, tap dance); “Scarecrow Drill”, Ballet; “Shuffle off to Buffalo”; Solo, Miss M. Fentiman “The Little Dutch Mill”; “The Sculptor’s Dream” Solo, “Sally” Miss Zona Kerr; One-act Play “An Exciting Evening” Miss Gainsford (President of the Club)' thanked the public for their support and asked Misses Watson, Newlands and Bennie to accept a small gift each from the members for their work in connection with the concert. Miss Zona Kerr (captain of the club) then presented Miss Gainsford with a small token of the appreciation in which she is held by the basketball girls. A well-attend-ed dance was held after the concert. The music was supplied by Miss M. Watson, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr. L. Hunt.
