FAREWELL SPEECHES

EMPIRE PARLIAMENTARIANS. (Received August 1 at. 7.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 31. The Empire parliamentarians. at their farewell dinner, endorsed the dictum of tho chairman. Mr. Leopold Amery, that the conference had been an important contribution to the spiritual forces shaping the Empire. Mr. Reitz, of South Africa, testified that outstanding impressions were of Britain’s indomitable courage in her political and economic worries, and her proudly quiet patriotism, instead of dementia or hate characterising the patriotism of other nations. Mr. Dickie, of New Zealand, suggested that the next conference should be held in New Zealand.
